Lady Million (EDP) by Paco Rabanne Perfume Review: The Scent of a Ka-Ching Lady
Perfume Review
Name: Lady Million Perfume type/Volume: Eau de Parfum (EDP): 1 fl. oz (30 ml) 1.7 fl. oz. (50 ml) and 2.7 fl. oz. (80 ml) Designer: Pace Rabanne Perfumers: Anne Flipo, Béatrice Piquet, Dominique Ropion Launched: 2010 Perfume ad/spokesmodel: Model du jour Dree Hemingway (great-granddaughter of the famous Ernest) flaunts it on the TV.
Lady Million (EDP) by Paco Rabanne was launched in July 2010. Its masculine super-popular best-selling counterpart 1 Million was launched in 2008 and was incarnated by Matt Gordon. The launch of Lady Million involved Dree Hemingway, and this couple's tale was pre-planned from the beginning. According to the International Marketing Director Frederic Appaire, "Since the beginning, we always had the idea of creating a couple with strong, flamboyant personalities." The co-creators of the perfume Dominique Ropion, Béatrice Piquet and Anne Flipo took their inspiration from the 1968 movie, 'The Thomas Crown Affair', which featured Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen. The movie shows an intense sexually charged affair where a detective's inclinations sway between sleeping with and sleuthing the other party.
The bottle designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance drew the inspiration for the flacon in the shape of a golden diamond from the famous Regent's Diamond at the Louvre Museum, which is the most beautiful diamond in the world, from the metallic (golden) dresses designed by Paco Rabanne fashion house. The perfume flacon is thus a perfect counterpart to the 1 Million flacon.
Dree Hemingway is Lady Million by Paco Rabanne: "OMG, Ka-Ching! I can have more cars, more shoes, more gold and diamonds, but most of all I can have 1 Million $ Man!"
Notes
Lady Million (EDP) projects bold femininity. The scent of Lady Million is fresh, sweet and longlasting. It opens with a fruity (citrusy) notes of bitter Seville orange and Neroli, softened by raspberry. The raspberry is followed by a soft amber-kind of fruity-floral impressions with traces of aldehydes. The scent becomes sweet at the floral heart as subtle jasmine, gardenia and heady orange blossoms merge together. The dry down is gentle warm amber and patchouli-honey sweet. The fragrance is both elegant and sensuous. It is an ode to a woman's boldness and a man's alter ego. It is enticing to the last note and complements the modern vibrant woman, who is a bit saucy and rebellious, too. Just one squirt - and no man will be able to resist her charm. The fragrance wants to convey seduction, brightness and luxury.
Lady & Feelings
Women who use Lady Million (EDP) are extroverted and bold. They like to be active and accept change with élan. The perfume invokes excitement and boosts energy levels initially but gradually the smell of soft jasmine fills the air with subtleness and relaxing, sensual and romantic feelings. The alliance of soft jasmine and sweat honey will have your senses begging for more. Lingering orange blossoms add a bit of spiceness and warmth, but once again the strong smell of the flowers in bloom with honey notes will settle you down. The aldehydic flavor will bring into play the feeling of independence. Many women find the scent subtle, intriguing and having kind of a sweet sexy vibe to boost feminine confidence...
Lady Million by Paco Rabanne is a modern sophisticated fragrance that suits musings in the colder half of the year perfectly. It is definitely a scent for women who tend to levitate toward the fruity and sweet blends. It is more suitable for younger women. Vibrant and sensuous fragrance being also slightly spicy floral - it is not designed for a typical teenager; more for a 'grown' up, daring, individualistic teenager with an 'attitude'. You can wear Lady Mio. for special (evening) occasions, but also during the daytime, for example for office wear. As the fragrance tends to linger, spray it once or twice, but don't overdo it, as it might be a little too powerful for the daytime if you use it liberally. Basically the rich blend appeals to those women who enjoy distinguished fragrance and enjoy a higher end perfume.
Many Women who have used Lady Million enjoy it, especially the smell of berries. The general consensus is that the EDP is sexy and sophisticated, apt for a business women in the prime of their careers or for women who are going out for their first date. Instead of fading away quickly, the scent stays on for hours consistently; this however depends on the skin type as well. Since the fragrance is fairly 'loud' and spicy, some women can only use it for a night out to make them feel sexy and bling-bling glamorous.
However, some women haven't liked it much and after the initial fun raspberry scent, they said it resembled cheap toffee candy smell. It is too potent for the cosmetics bag. Some women even find it too dark, spicy or a little masculine, while some just think it is a concoction of cheap chemicals and that the perfume noses had to work on a tight budget, since the fragrance appears to be very generic and flankerish.
As a Gift?
As said Lady Million (EDP) by Paco Rabanne is suitable for younger women and 'grown' up teenagers. Many women find the scent subtle, intriguing and possessing a sweet sexy vibe to boost their feminine confidence. The perfume makes them feel like a million dollars and gets them many compliments.
Lady Million can be gifted to your best friend, sister, daughter, niece... for any occasion actually, but maybe due to its golden-diamond shine more for special occasions, like graduating or getting a job. Also, it is an excellent Christmas perfume choice for younger women.
I wouldn't recommend this perfume as a highly romantic perfume gift, only as gift at 'let's party' or 'sympathy' stage of your romance. After all, you don't want her to be with you just because of your millions - do ya, 1 Million $ Man?
