Flower by Kenzo is the most popular Kenzo fragrance for women. Created by Alberto Morillas in 2000, it is an imaginary scent of a red poppy flower which is really scentless.

Everything about Flower by Kenzo is beautiful.
There is an elegant white box with poppy flower in different phases of blooming on each side.
There is a tall, slender bottle, slightly curved, which looks like a minimalistic Japanese vase with poppy flower in it.
And then there is a new perfume movie, a poetic little sugar, directed by Patrick Guedj. Ethereal Japanese actress Lika Minamoto plays the modern metropolitan enchantress meditating on Paris roof top. It is with her peacefulness and feminine gracefulness that she draws the nature to the gray busy metropolis. Nomadic, fragile poppy flowers drizzle from the sky and make roots in the city. The city is full of life and smiles, love and peace is in the air...
It is the Flower in the city, a mystic gentle fragrance whispering le monde est beau (The world is beautiful).
Flower by Kenzo is an unusual oriental - floral fragrance, powdery with emphasis on floral notes.
Officially it is described as having three accords, floral (rose, violet, hawthorn, blackcurrant), powdery (vanilla, white musk, opoponax) and vibrant (incense).
Translated into "standard" perfume notes (osmoz.com), the top notes are fresh florals, cassis (blackcurrant) is the strongest. Heart notes are prolonging the floral pleasure with a bit old-fashioned mixture of delicate (Bulgarian) roses, strong (Parma) violets and Jasmine, they give very warm feeling. Base notes are composed of opoponax, vanilla and white musk and create lovely powdery, slightly sweet accord. Preceding floral notes, most notably roses and violets, melt with the powdery base into almost a bit woody dry down. Vibrant accord of incense (opoponax) makes the fragrance cozy, even soothing.
Lady & Feelings
Wearing Flower by Kenzo you will feel light, free, peaceful, cosmopolitan... Sometimes you will even forget you are wearing it, fragile poppy scent will just fill the air with simple beauty of fresh spring or early summer. Lovely, innocent, graceful, feminine... It is delicate and strong at the same time. Very alive, youthful... It is the signature scent of an elegant urban woman, who wants to have a vivid link with nature.
Occasions & Seasons
Flower by Kenzo is a strong, long-lasting perfume, on certain types of skin it can last the whole day through (use sparingly). The fragrance has a nice sillage, but not overwhelming or cloying. It is a fragrance most suitable for everyday (casual) wear and an excellent choice for the office. I don't find Flower by Kenzo particularly romantic or special occasions type of fragrance, in my opinion it lacks the oomph factor a bit. Ok, maybe you can wear it on a shy first date...
The innocence of the fragrance roots in the powdery accord which is sometimes described also as a scent of a baby powder. And, if you don't like good old violets and roses, you might find this combination a bit artificially sweet. Actually, the biggest disappointment you might get wearing this perfume (but you have to be a bit of a perfume "nose") is the linearity of the fragrance or lack of development, meaning that the fragrance remains more or less the same (powdery floral) throughout. But if you don't like changes, this might be a plus for you, right?
In my opinion is Flower by Kenzo one of the most universal perfume gifts for women. This unique powdery oriental floral fragrance is appealing to most women, all generations included. It is an excellent gift choice for Valentine's Day or Mother's day. With majority of women, you just won't go wrong, if you choose Flower by Kenzo.
