First Celebrity Perfume Endorsement - For Free |
Marilyn was officially never spokesmodel for Chanel, but her famous quote skyrocketed the sales of Chanel No. 5, the most famous and best selling perfume ever, and added another magical touch to the history of the perfume icon.

Parfums Chanel (Chanel Perfume house) is the one that the most lavishly invests into perfume marketing via celebrity endorsing and artfully harvests continuous commercial successes through the decades. Chanel selects only the first league movie directors such as Baz Luhrman, Luc Besson or Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and hires celebrities that best epitomize the soul and nature of Chanel perfumes. Chanel perfume marketing is something special, but the marketing, more specifically marketing filmography, for the sacred Chanel No. 5 perfume - is the super special, ONE of the kind.
Coco Chanel wanted Chanel No. 5 perfume to embody the scent of a woman and Chanel house, following Coco's wishes and ideas like she was still alive, has based No. 5 marketing on defining a contemporary Woman and Femininity. It is interesting to observe, how this has reflected in the choice of Chanel No. 5's spokesmodels through the decades: Catherine Deneuve, Carole Bouquet, Estella Warren, Nicole Kidman...

The latest perfume movie for Chanel No. 5 Train de nuit ("Night train") is a short cinematic sugar directed by French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who also directed the eccentric romantic comedy The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain ("Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain"; 2001).
The happy-end story was inspired by fate and chance, missed encounters and regrets... It shows how Audrey Tautou and Travis Davenport meet, fall in love at the Orient Express night train to Istanbul, how their paths go astray and finally meet again at the Istanbul train station. All this with the help of the magical No. 5 perfume, of course!
