Dolce & Gabbanna Light Blue

My perfumes and me - where are we now?

My perfumes right now - it's a long hot summer here in Europe right now - are: sun, sea, wind, stars... And sweet kisses...

And in between sometimes during the day also fresh Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana or Kenzo Eau de Fleur de Soie and at sunsets deliciously fruity, sunny and seductive Taj Sunset by Escada.

Occasionally I get requests to write more about myself... OK. I'm quite a private person, so this won't be an easy task for me. Here's an outline of me.

Obviously, perfumes are my passion. That's why I created this website - to share this passion and possibly provide useful perfume information to the readers. As it turns out writing about perfumes helps me express myself better than I could ever imagine and has set me on one of the biggest adventures of my life.

Who am I? I am a woman. Creative. Eclectic. Poetic...

I love life. I love people. I love nature. Not that I was never hurt and not that I didn't stagger along the thin line between life and death - my love is even stronger now...

I have a peculiar habit of naming people in my life with fairy tale, mainly animal, names: Cub, Treasure, Oystrich, Hyena, Princess, Turkey, Parrot, Chicken, Hen, Bear, Hawk, Fox, Innocenta, Plasticine Man, Diva, Crows...

If I was an animal - what would I be?

First, I'd be a buzzard (hawk). I love the freedom, the skies, the gliding, the silence, the wind, being close to the sun, the views... I love the freedom of one and closeness of two.

Second, I'd be an ocean animal... not a fish, more a dolphin.

I love water, how it softly wraps around my body, the infinity, the depth, the group, the play, the sound...

And third, I'd probably be a cat.

OK, what else? I guess in the FB age, when your 'profile' and 'tags' define you, I should probably mention some of my favourites, like musicians, books, inspirations, actors & movies. I won't go into long lists, I am eclectic, they all change fast... But among all those faves there is one I keep coming back to and that touches me the most (interestingly, a perfume plays an important role):

The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain: The Bloopers
(2001; directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet; French title: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain)

So what do names, characters and faves have to do with perfumes? A lot; perfumes can evoke memories, fantasies, emotions - long forgotten or wildly alive - and these can include a name or two... and a fave or two... or three, don't you agree?

Anything else you want to know about me? Oh yes, I come from Slovenia, the home country of Peter Florjancic, the man who invented perfume atomizer, and of acclaimed fashion designer Lara Bohinc. In my home town we don't have much access to niche perfumery, that's why I decided to write predominantly about the mainstream and celebrity perfumes on my website.

My big wish for you, my dear reader, is to feel good on my website and possibly gain some valuable or entertaining information about perfumes for yourself. For now it's still not possible to smell a perfume through the computers, but let me send you some of my feelings about them through the skies & wires, OK. I'll do my best, I promise :).

Enjoy my perfume fantasies & memories and take care,
Maya from Precious-Womens-Perfumes.com

About Us... On November 22nd, 2009

Me and my perfumes... How it all began? Actually, I can not remember when my love for perfumes started. I guess when I was a little girl, secretly trying on my mother's perfumes. It turned into a passion now which I want to share with you on this site and hopefully help you decide better about your perfume choice.

Butterfly Nebula: First Cosmic Kiss

For me perfumes are all about emotions, memories and fantasies, suppressed or wildly alive.

They speak without words and move invisibly...

They connect human and nature, they embrace bodies like a warm summer night filled with stars and love.

I think Elizabeth Taylor said it perfectly:

"The beauty of fragrance is that it speaks to your heart... and hopefully someone else's."

When it comes to perfumes I want to remember it all. Where do the scents take me in my mind? To a busy market, a spring meadow, a night club, maybe to a deserted beach in September? Do they remind me of somebody precious? Can I smell passion in the air, waiting to explode or is it just an illusion? What kind of music can I hear? And how do I feel wearing this perfume? Like I walk in the clouds the whole day long?

Did I introduce them to you at all, my perfumes? Right now my precious perfume companions are: Hypnotic Poison (Christian Dior), N° 5 Eau Première (Chanel), Flower by Kenzo (Kenzo), Thrill (Joop!), Idylle (Guerlain), A scent (Issey Miyake), John Galliano (John Galliano) and F for Fascinating Night (Salvatore Ferragamo). Each of them with character of their own, waiting for me to wear them where they shine the best.

Enjoy my perfume memories and fantasies,
M.
